2000 Yen The Particular Banknote That Few Love
- Written by Mauro
Few people know this particular banknote because it's very difficult to find it in Japan, it doesn't circulate regularly and to tell the truth is not much loved by the Japanese themselves because, being used little, is cause of confusion with other cuts, and confusion is never well accepted among the Japanese :)
The banknote is characterized by a green color that make it more recognizable than others. In one of the faces is represented the Shureimon (守礼 門), the main monument of Okinawa part of Shuri Castle (首 里 城)
The first time I saw them, I was also confused and mistaken for the 1000 Yen, then looking at it well I saw it was different, but in the long years I have been inJapan I had never seen it circulate, and asking to a Japanese friend he told me about this particular banknote so little present in everyday life, and so so "rare" and unloved.
Did you happen to find it? you are more likely to be given if you take cash from your bank before leaving, rather than having it as rest or banknotes in the withdrawal.
